Crime and Punishment

 Crime

Refers to an illegal act or crime that breaks the laws established by a society. It involves the violation of legal rules and can cover a wide range of actions, from misdemeanors to felonies. Crimes are considered harmful to society and are therefore subject to legal and criminal sanctions.

Punishment

It is the consequence or measure imposed on someone who has committed a crime. It is the institutional and legal response to the offense committed. Punishment can take various forms, such as fines, prison terms, community work, or rehabilitation, depending on the seriousness of the crime and each country's justice system.

In short, crime refers to the illegal action or offense committed, while punishment is the legal response and sanction imposed on the person who has committed the crime. The crime is the violation of the law, while the punishment is the institutional response to that violation in search of maintaining social order and justice.
